Team Hong Kong, China wrote a new chapter in the squash history in Chennai, India today, finishing as Runners-up at the SDAT Squash World Cup 2025 after going down 0-3 to hosts and second seed Team India in the Final.
This year’s tournament was staged in Chennai, India, from 9 to 14 December, with Team Hong Kong, China producing a series of strong performances to reach the Final for the first time. In the opening match, our women’s player Lee Ka Yi faced India’s Joshna Chinappa, losing 1-3 (3-7, 7-2, 5-7, 2-7) in a hard-fought contest.
Teammates Lau Tsz Kwan Alex and Ho Tze Lok Tomato then took to the court, facing Abhay Singh and Anahat Singh respectively. Both fought valiantly but ultimately fell in straight games. Hong Kong, China lost the tie 0-3 to India, finishing their campaign as runners-up.
