3 local players including Joey Chan Ho-ling, Elise Ng Jia-yunn and Liu Tsz-ling reached into 2nd round of the qualifying event of the Cathay Pacific Hong Kong Squash Open 2008 which will be held tomorrow at the HK Squash Centre. Come and support our local heros!

Joey Chan Ho-ling and Elise Ng Jia-yunn breakthrough to get into main draw which will be commence tomorrow. Joey Chan dismissed the top seeds in the qualifying event from USA Latasha Khan 3-2 to reach to the main event first time while Elise Ng defeated New Zealand's Kylie Lindsay 3-2 in the 2nd of the qualifying event of the Cathay Pacific Hong Kong Squash Open 2008 today. HK Champions Rebecca Chiu Wing-yin and Dick Siu-wai together with Annie Au Wing-chi and Christina Mak Pui-hin will also be playing tomorrow. Come and support our local heros!

Today in the main draw first round see HK's top womens player Rebecca Chiu Wing-yin play against Demark's Line Hansen. Chiu beat Hansen 3-0 to reach the second round tomorrow against top seed's Malaysia's Nicol David. While Elise Ng, Dick Lau, Annie Au, Christina Mak and Joey Chan lost in the first round. Today in the main draw second round, HK champion Rebecca Chiu Wing-yin lost to the world champion Malaysia's Nicol David 1-3. David will now meet Egypt's Omneya Abdel Kawy in the quarter-finals. In the men's draw, three Egypt players reached into the quarter-finals, they are top seeds Egypt's Amr Shabana who defeated Aussie's Stewart Boswell in 3-1, Karim Darwish and the new world champion Ramy Ashour. Today in the main draw quarter-finals, both men's and women's top seed and world number 1 Egypt's Amr Shabana and Malaysia's Nicol David reached into the semi-finals held tomorrow. David will meet USA's Natalie Grainger while Aussie's Rachael Grinham will meet her younger sister Natalie. In the Men's semi-finals, Amr Shabana will meet France's Thierry Lincou while England's James Willstrop play against France's Gregory Gaultier. Semi-finals and finals will be held in a state-of-the-art glass court erected at the Piazza of the Cultural Centre, with the grand Harbour as its natural backdrop. Today in the semi-finals held in a state-of-the-art glass court erected at the Piazza of the Cultural Centre, with the grand Harbour as its natural backdrop. Both men's and women's top seed and world number 1 Egypt's Amr Shabana and Malaysia's Nicol David reached into the finals since 2005 World Championships held in HK. Finals will be commence at 5:45pm between Nicol David and Aussie's Rachael Ginham. Men's final will started at 6:45pm between Amr Shabana and second seeded France's Gregory Gaultier. All tickets for the final matches of the Cathay Pacific Hong Kong Squash Open are sold out. A big screen will also be set up at the Piazza (next to the glass court) for FREE watching. Today in the finals of the Cathay Pacific Hong Kong Squash Open. Both men's and women's top seed and world number 1 Egypt's Amr Shabana and Malaysia's Nicol David won 4th-in-row included the 2005 in the World Championships.
