The seven-day 2022 WSF Women's World Team Championship was successfully concluded yesterday in Cairo, Egypt. On the last day of the Championship, Hong Kong Women's Team upset the 4th seed Team France in the playoffs to finish 5th.


Chan Sin Yuk, who has performed consistently well throughout the championship, took the lead by defeating the opponent Mélissa Alves in a straight win (11-6, 11-6, 11-9). Lee Ka Yi, on the other hand, was beaten 3-0 by Camille Serme (5-11, 1-11, 7-11) to let Team France level the tie. Tong Tsz Wing, who played the decider, started well in the first two games. Though her opponent Énora Villard took the third game, Tong’s exceptional performance concluded the match by winning 3-1 (11-6, 11-3, 6-11, 12-10) and led Team Hong Kong to beat Team France 2-1 in the 5/6 Playoffs.


Hong Kong Women's team achieved the 5th place to conclude the 2022 Women's World Team Championship.
