Organized by the Squash Association of Hong Kong, China, subvented by the Leisure & Cultural Services Department, the 6-day "Hong Kong Squash Championships 2025 - Doubles Championships" successfully concluded today at the Hong Kong Sports Institute.
The Women's Doubles top seed, Lee Ka Yi / Tong Tsz Wing, faced off against the second seed, Tse Yee Lam Toby / Wong Po Yui Kirstie, in their final Round-Robin match today. With Lee/Tong winning in straight two games (11-5, 11-4) in 20 minutes, they were crowned by not losing a game.
The Men's Doubles top seed, Wong Chi Him / Tang Ming Hong, met the fourth seed, Lam Shing Fung Matthew / Au Lap Man Rex in the Final. Two duos fought in a hard battle, while Wong and Tang narrowly won the first game 11-10. In the second game, Wong / Tang struggled at the start and fell behind by five points. However, after making adjustments, they successfully staged a comeback, winning the set 11-8 and claiming the Men's Doubles title.
The final match of this championship, Mixed Doubles Final, featured top seed Tong Tsz Wing / Tang Ming Hong against second seed Lee Ka Yi / Wong Chi Him. Lee / Wong took the first set 11-7, gaining an early lead. However, Tong / Tang tied by winning the second game 11-8. In the decisive third set, both teams fought fiercely, resulting in a gruelling 52-minute match, Lee Ka Yi / Wong Chi Him ultimately won the match by 11-10.
The Prize Ceremony was held following the Mixed Doubles Final, with Mr. David Mui, MH JP, the Honourable Duncan Chiu and Mr. John Y-M Wong, the President, Chairman and Vice Chairman of the Squash Association of Hong Kong, China presented the trophies to all the winners.
The association sincerely thank all participants for their
enthusiastic involvement and support for the event, as well as all the staff for their hard work that contributed to the success of this first-ever Doubles Championships.
