The JESSICA Company Hong Kong Junior Squash Open 2025 entered its fourth day, with all matches returning to the Hong Kong Squash Centre. The finalists for the Boy’s and Girl’s U19 categories have been confirmed, setting the stage for thrilling all-Hong Kong, China team showdowns.
In the Boy’s U19 category, defending champion and top seed, Japan’s Makino Renshi, faced home player 3/4 seed Wong Wing Kuen. The match went to a deciding game, however Makino withdrew due to injury, allowing Wong to advance to the final. He will face his fellow teammate, 3/4 seed Mak Tsun Hei, who also battled through a five-game thriller to secure his spot.
In the Girls’ U19 category, last year’s U17 champion Kwong Ena challenged a higher age group, facing Hong Kong, China teammate and top seed Tang Helen in the semifinals. Ena took an early lead, winning the first two games 11-6 and 14-12, but Helen staged a comeback, winning the next three games 11-7, 11-3, and 11-5 to secure a reverse victory. Helen will face her Hong Kong, China teammate, Cheung Tsz Ching, in the Final.
Tomorrow (August 10) is the final day of the tournament. We will livestream all matches from the Centre court at the Hong Kong Squash Centre on Facebook and YouTube channels. Stay tuned for the action!
