The 5-day 23rd Asian Squash Individual Championships concluded today in Kuching, Sarawak, Malaysia.

Hong Kong, China players Lau Tsz Kwan Alex and Ho Tze Lok Tomato demonstrated exceptional skill throughout the tournament, reaching the finals in both the Men's and Women's events.

In today’s Women’s final, 3/4 seed Ho Tze Lok Tomato faced off against the top seed and home player Rachel Arnold. Ho Tze Lok took the initiative, quickly winning the first game 11-4. Although she lost the second game 10-12, after making adjustments, she ultimately secured the victory with two consecutive games of 11-4 and 11-0, claiming her first Gold Medal at the Asian Squash Individual Championships. This victory marks the third consecutive time that a Hong Kong, China player has won the Women's gold medal.

In the Men's final, the second seed Lau Tsz Kwan Alex engaged in a fierce battle against the top seed, Abdulla Al-Tamimi from Qatar. Alex showcased an outstanding performance, winning in straight sets (14-12, 13-11, 11-9) to reclaim the Men's Gold Medal for Hong Kong, China since 2017, and also securing his first Asian Squash Individual Championships Medal. Together with his teammate Leung Chi Hin Henry, who won the Men's Bronze Medal yesterday, the team finished with a remarkable record of two Golds and one Bronze, making history by simultaneously winning both Men's and Women's Gold Medals.
