Organized by Squash Association of Hong Kong, China, sole title-sponsored by Milwaukee, the prestigious “Milwaukee Hong Kong Squash Open 2024” is confirmed to the stage from 2 to 8 December at Hong Kong Squash Centre and Edinburgh Place. The press conference was successfully held at the Olympian City 2 this afternoon.
The tournament is listed as one of the Platinum events of Professional Squash Association World Tour series. The “Milwaukee Hong Kong Squash Open 2024” is proud of being an “M” Mark event that helps enhance the image of Hong Kong as Asia’s sports event capital. The “M” Mark awarded by the Major Sports Events Committee, symbolising intense, spectacular and signature event in the territory sports calendar.”
The total prize money of the tournament will be US$415,000 (HK$3.24 million) and it will feature 32 players in both Men’s and Women’s draw. The Men’s World No.1 and three-time Runner-up, Ali Farag and 2022 Champion Mostafa Asal from Egypt will be the first two seeds, while the defending Champion, Paul Coll from New Zealand and current World Champion, Diego Elias from Peru will be seeded as the third and fourth seeds. Besides, two of our home players, World No. 48 Leung Chi Hin Henry and World No.50 Lau Tsz Kwan Alex will take part in the tournament as wildcard holders.
All Women’s top three seeds are from Egypt, including World No.1 and 2017 Champion Nour El Sherbini, current World Champion and 2016 Champion Nouran Gohar, and last two editions’ Champions, Hania El Hammamy. And the American Olivia Weaver join the event as the fourth seed. The local No.1 Women’s player Ho Tze Lok Tomato enters the tournament with her world ranking of 23, while her compatriots, World No.39 Lee Ka Yi and World No.46 Tong Tsz Wing will join the tournament as wild cards.

Round 1 and Round 2 will take place at the Hong Kong Squash Centre on Cotton Tree Drive in Admiralty, with a glass court first set up at Edinburgh Place in front of the City Hall for Quarter-finals, Semi-finals and Finals.
