HK players enter into Quarter-Finals in KL Open |

(29 Mar) Main draw of Nicol David KL Open Squash Championships started on Mar 28 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. In the womens draw, Annie Au caused an upset by beating Seed No. 7 & currently world No. 8 Natalie Grinham in 4 games which lasted for 55 mins.She is now in the quarter-final and will play against Seed No. 3 Laura Massaro, world No. 4 this evening.
In the mens draw, Max Lee won round one game to enter into quarter-final. He will play against Seed No. 4 Adrian Grant.
Leo Au played remarkably well in the qualifying round to beat Siddarth Suchde (IND) in 3-2 in 122 mins on the first day, then beat Muhd Asyraf Azan (MAS) by 3-0 to enter into the main draw.In round one, he again scored victory while playing against Ryan Cuskelly (AUS) and will now play against Karim Darwish (EGY) this afternoon.Karim Darwish is Seed No. 1 in this tournament with a current world ranking at No. 4.

16th Coaching Seminar 2012 cum 2011 HKS Coaching Awards |

(26 Mar) The 16th HKS Coaching Seminar 2012 had been competed successfully on last Saturday 24 March at HK Sports Institute and attracted over 70 coaches to attend. Besides, all the prizes for the ˇ§2011 HK Squash Coaching Awardsˇ¨ had also been presented at the Coaches Annual Dinner held in Whitehead Club, Ma On Shan on the same day. Special thanks to HK Coaching Committee as well as our sponsor - Prince for their continuous support to these events!!

(19 Mar) Mr David Mui, MH JP, Chairman of HK Squash, was honoured to host a lunch for receiving Mr Song Luzeng, Secretary General of the Chinese Olympic Committee. At the function, Mr Song reiterated his support for Hong Kong's participation in major games and he agreed to push the motion for squash team events to be included in the 2013 Nanjing Asian Youth Games. Mr Mui on behalf of the Association thanked Mr Song for his presence and also thanked Mr Pang Chung, Hon. Secretary General of the Sports Federation and Olympic Committee of Hong Kong, China for arranging the gathering.

(19 Mar) The Fujifilm mini-squash carnival was held successfully yesterday at the Plaza Hollywood with thousands of kids and parents participated. (14 Mar) We congratulate Anthony who has been newly appointed by the World Squash Federation as a WSF Referee, being the first local Chinese referee obtaining the qualification (The other WSFR from Hong Kong is Mohammad Fayyaz). Anthony has been a top referee in Hong Kong for many years and we wish that his appointment would inspire many more of the local referees to continue with their effort and involvement in refereeing. Anthony serves as the Chairman of the Rules & Referees Sub-committee and he is also the Tournament Referee of all major tournaments in Hong Kong including the Hong Kong Open. Well done Anthony! |

Ho won the Most Promising Junior Athlete in 2011 |

(7 Mar) Congratulations to Ho Ka Po who won the ZESPRI Outstanding Junior Athlete Awards "The Most Promising Junior Athlete in 2011" in recognition of her excellent performance in 2011. In addition, Ma Tsz-hei awarded Cert. of Merit for the 4th quarter of 2011. Also at the presentation ceremony, four athletes who were awardees of 2011 included our player Choi Uen-shan and Ho Tze-lok - were selected to participate in the 2011 New Zealand Cultural Exchange Tour to be held at the end of this month. Well done!!

Au & Ho won the HK Sports Stars Awards 2011 |

(28 Feb) Congratulations to Annie Au Wing Chi and Ho Ka Po who received their first "Hong Kong Sports Stars Award" and "Hong Kong Junior Sports Stars Award" respectively at the SF&OC Spring Dinner last night. Both of them performed very well in the past year and they are well deserved of the awards. Special thanks to Dr York Chow for his compliment and encouragement to our athletes. Well done Annie and Ka Po!

(22 Feb) Organized by the HK Football Club, a PSA tournament named HKFC Meco Invitation Tournament 2012 will be held on 12 ~ 17 March at the HK Football Club attracting a number of top 50 men's players in the world participating with the no.1 seed ranked 14th. A press conference was held yesterday at the Football Club and our Chairman, Mr David Mui JP, was invited to deliver a speech. In his speech, Mr Mui thanked the Football Club for organizing the tournament and also giving the wildcards to our local players.
