Team Hong Kong obtained bronze medal in WSF World Women’s Team Championship 2018 (Sep 17 2018)

Team Hong Kong was halted by the defending champion and first seed Egypt in a 1-2 defeat in the semi- finals held today to claim the bronze medal in CGG WSF Women's World Team Championship 2018 for the second time in a row.

 

The team No.2 Joey Chan played against Raneem El Welily in the first string however, the Egyptian managed to edge the match with a tight 3-0 win to take the lead for Egypt.

 

Annie Au stepped up to continued her good form to set up the decider for Hong Kong as she suppressed the current World No.1 Nour El Sherbini in the intensive five games before Lee Ka Yi was defeated by Nour El Tayeb in three games to settle another bronze medal.
