Double Delights for Hong Kong in Asian Team Championships 2018 (Mar 26 2018)

The top seed Hong Kong Men’s and Women’s Team made history to crown in the 19th Asian Team Championships together for the first time after seeing off Korea and Pakistan with a 2-0 dominant performance in the finals.


Annie Au took a good start for the women’s team by pulling off a straight win against Korea. Following after, the second string, Joey Chan powered back from a game down to seal the victory in four game. This is the fifth time for Hong Kong Women’s Team to claim the title after 1986, 2000, 2002 and 2010.


In the men’s final, Max Lee put Hong Kong ahead in the opening match against Pakistan as he overcame Farhan Zaman with a three-nil win. Hong Kong captured the maiden Asian Team Champion title after Leo Au defeated the defending champion in four game.
