Coaches Awards

Hong Kong Squash realized that coach always plays an important role to promote & development squash. Since year 1999, HKS organized Hong Kong Squash Coaching Awards, so as to give recognition to coaches for their service and contributions to squash.

Categories of Awards:

1. Coaching Excellence Award

Junior Category
To be awarded to coaches who have been coaching/ coached junior players to achieve a third place or a higher position in the following local/overseas competitions from 1 January - 31 December 2009: -

  • Hong Kong Junior Open
  • Hong Kong Junior Squash Closed Championships
  • Inter-Schools Individual Squash Competition
  • Overseas Junior Competitions, organized by the respective national associations.

* The Awards must be nominated by the respective players. Each player is only allowed to nominate one coach for the respective category.

Senior Category
To be awarded to coaches who have been coaching/ coached senior players to achieve a third place or a higher position in the following local/overseas competitions from 1 January - 31 December 2009: -

  • Hong Kong Open
  • Hong Kong Closed Championships
  • Overseas Competitions, organized by the respective national associations

* The Award must be nominated by the respective player. Each player is only allowed to nominate ONE coach for the respective category.

2. Squash Club Coach Recognition Award

To be awarded to coaches who: -

  • have made an outstanding contribution to the development of their squash club(s) for a period of two consecutive years or above
  • have improved the performance of a team or an individual
  • have aroused the interest and a sense of belonging of the players towards the club and the sport
  • present a positive image of coaching
  • strive to improve their knowledge and expertise in coaching

* The Coach must be nominated by his/ her sport club or squash club (the sport club or squash club must be registered under the Societies Ordinance). Each club is only allowed to nominate ONE coach for the award. Those who have received the award in the last 2 consecutive years are not eligible to be nominated.

3. School Coach Recognition Award

To be awarded to coaches who: -

  • have made a special contribution to the development of squash in schools
  • actively promote squash in schools
  • have improved the performance of a team or an individual
  • present a positive image of coaching
  • strive to improve their knowledge and expertise in coaching

* The Coach must be nominated by his/ her primary school, secondary school, post-secondary school or university. Each school is only allowed to nominate ONE coach for the award. A Coach can only be the award recipient for a maximum 3 consecutive years .
